Kratom Tea Can Help in Opioid Addiction Treatment

Kratom tea is a highly desirable subject in research for its potential role in opioid addiction treatment. Researchers from numerous institutes are currently working on finding the true strength of this miraculous Southeast Asian beverage. Kratom tea is reportedly infused with Kratom leaves which is a natural pain and stress reliever.

Kratom has been in use for centuries for its natural healing and relaxing nature. But the true picture of its benefits only came into the limelight when some of its constituents were identified.

Many cases reported people using kratom tea to avoid the withdrawal associated with opium usage. This traditional usage leads these researchers to carry out studies to find how it may help in the opioid withdrawal treatment.

Kratom grows in many parts of Southeast Asia and carries significance in traditional medicine for its natural healing powers. It is not an opioid however many of its properties make it appear like one. For its natural strength, it is also possible for people to start overdosing kratom, leading to addiction.

For centuries, Kratom has been used as a pain reliever that is equally powerful as morphine, codeine, and other chemical alternatives. Mitragynine is the active ingredient inside the Kratom tree which after binding to the opioid receptors initiates pain relief.

In the United States, the Food and Drug regulatory Authority has not approved Kratom but many kratom infused products are readily available. The companies know the desperation that people may get when they don’t find any other solution to relieve pain and stress and they take benefit of this situation and introduce kratom supplements with natural pain-relieving promises. As mentioned before, all these kratom products are not approved by the FDA, so there is literally no way to check the efficiency and safety of these products.

Many of the properties of kratom are specific with different strains. There are different varieties of kratom that grow in different parts of the Southeast Asian region. Each one of them is referred to a ‘strain’ and the basic categorization of these strains is based on the vein color in its leaves which could be red, white, and green.

The best Kratom strain for pain-relieving is and withdrawal symptoms are the red-vein leaves. White vein kratom leaves are associated with stress relief and energy boost while green vein leaves are in between red and white vein kratom leaves. It suggests that red vein strains of kratom may help in the opioid addiction treatment more than other variants.

In addition to this, the red vein kratom strains also regulate sleep and prevent insomnia or sleep deprivation.

But one thing which is still confusing health experts is how to add kratom into a regular opioid addiction treatment when it is not approved by the FDA. The only way to change its status is by understanding the strength and medicinal nature of kratom and the safest dosage that may help to achieve all these benefits. Once these researches are published, FDA may change its stance on these Kratom based products, suggesting health experts to recommend kratom for pain relief and opioid addiction treatment.
