The recent death toll from the Chinese coronavirus has crossed 1000, as WHO warns people about not to travel to China. Despite taking all the measures. Despite all the warnings and precautions, Chinese health officials are failing to control coronavirus spread in Wuhan, which emerged in December 2019.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has sent an expert team to China to evaluate the situation and help to make a control strategy. The coronavirus has taken more than 1000 deaths to this day and infected nearly42,000 and reported in 25 different countries.

China has locked down some of its major cities and millions of people are stuck to their houses. Several countries have warned their citizens from traveling to China and banned international travelers from China to enter their land. Many leading airlines of the world have suspended their scheduled flights to China after this virus emerged as a global health threat.

People are fearful and no one really understands how this virus spreads. The recent case of an unnamed British citizen who lost his life to coronavirus potentially infected 11 more people and he wasn’t even in China. It is alarming because the virus is showing up in people who have never been to China or share any connection with it.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus chief officer at the World Health Organization (WHO) says;

“The detection of this small number of cases could be the spark that becomes a bigger fire. “But for now it’s only a spark. Our objective remains containment. We call on all countries to use the window of opportunity we have to prevent a bigger fire.”

Michael Ryan who heads the Health Emergencies Programme by the World Health Organization (WHO) said;

“It is always a concern when people come together and then move apart and we have to have risk management procedures associated with that but you can’t shut down the world either.”

After this incidence of a British citizen’s death, the British government has termed this new viral outbreak a “serious and imminent threat”.
