The U.S. Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended people to follow guidelines such as wearing a mask, washing hands frequently and practising social distancing since the early days of the ongoing pandemic as they can make a significant difference in decreasing the risk of developing the coronavirus infection.
The majority of the population had strictly followed the instructions especially in spring and summer. Out of fear, many even took extra precautions and went as far as disinfecting their groceries everytime while buying them as well as their houses every other day.
However, as time passed by and the restrictions got less strict all over the world, few people continued to take preventive measures as seriously. Now, health agencies have reported that very few people are following guidelines properly.
Most are not even wearing a mask or avoiding crowds in order to avoid catching the infection.
In addition, the latest findings of the CDC specifically highlight how young adults under the age of thirty are the ones who are primarily ignoring warnings about virus and going out frequently without taking proper precautions.
According to the current medical evidence, young adults between the ages of eighteen to twenty-nine are the least likely to develop a severe form of the coronavirus infection. In most cases, they recover without intensive care solely by resting and isolating.
At the same time, research also suggests that the infection is unpredictable and can become severe in even the most healthiest of people, which is why prevention is better than treatment.

Secondly, there have also been several reports of people, including atheletes, developing severe associated effects after recovering from the infection such as myocarditis.
While it is true that younger people are less likely to have coronavirus-related complications, it should also be noted that they play a big role in spreading the virus.
Studies on coronavirus trends by CDC have already shown that young adults had started contracting the infection more often than people from other age groups mainly because they were also responsible for the high transmission rates.
In comparison with older adults, young adults are more likely to go out, travel, and spread the virus. With them no longer following preventive measures, there are chances that the number of new cases and transmission levels may increase further.
Additionally, many young people assume that only people with symptoms of coronavirus infection should wear a mask, avoid crowded places and stay at home as much as possible.
This is not true. The CDC coronavirus guidelines should be followed by everyone regardless of whether they are having signs of the infection or not.
Therefore, young adults under the age of thirty should be more careful, keeping in mind that the vast majority remains to be at risk for the infection and that them not following instructions does not only put them at high risk of contracting the virus but also their friends, families, and overall community.
Following guidelines is a fundamental step which cannot be skipped even is a vaccine is developed as they are still needed to control the pandemic.
