CBD or cannabidiol is one of the active compounds present in the Cannabis sativa plant or what is simply referred to as hemp and marijuana. It is used and available in many different forms in the market but recently most people have been using CBD to cure anxiety in the past few years.
According to the research present on cannabidiol, it can help in managing the symptoms of a number of health concerns ranging from sleeping disorders such as sleep apnea and mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.
However, the compound has been added to various other products as it has gained popularity around the world. From self-care and beauty isles to natural medicines, CBD is an ingredient in many of the products.
In fact, many companies have even started producing unique products containing cannabidiol including CBD pillows and sheets. Earlier this year, Mike Tyson also showed interest in the popularity of the ingredient and decided to launch his own brand of ‘printed’ CBD edibles.
Above all, it is still most well-known for its advantages for mental health and associated health problems but can using CBD to cure anxiety really work?
The findings of the newest research on the compound actually conclude that it may actually be only useful for relieving and managing high levels of anxiety in people and that too only to a limited extent.
The World Health Organization review states that no serious adverse effects have been noted in the use of CBD to cure anxiety in people.
However, according to the senior scientific advisor at Medterra CBD, Dr. Matthew Halpert, there is very little evidence to show that the use of CBD does cure anxiety. Secondly, all other advantages associated with the use of cannabidiol have not been as such proven either.
Although there are studies with lab mice models and even anxiety patients that show improved anxiety symptoms, experts argue that the findings are only speculative.
Moreover, most of them have certain limitations with the results only being applicable in certain types of situations and anxiety disorder. For people who do not have generalized anxiety, the impact of using CBD may not be the same.

This is why relying on the use of CBD for managing symptoms of anxiety is not recommended even though it is considered safe and there are no reported adverse effects.
Most Americans, however, still do use only cannabidiol for their anxiety disorders. According to the results of a Gallup Poll on the use of CBD held in 2019, around fourteen percent of the people in the US used cannabidiol frequently.
The results of a similar poll also further showed that the majority of the CBD users in the US used it for the purpose of managing anxiety.
Many people swear by the effectiveness of using CBD for managing their issues but there is still a need for further investigation to know more about the compound and to make sure there are no long-term side effects as well.
In the meantime, avoid relying completely on CBD and use it only in a safe, recommended dosage after buying it from a trusted source to avoid any other problems.
