More than 40 people are tested positive for Covid-19 after attending a swinger party ‘Naughty in N’awlins’ in New Orleans (USA). According to the party’s organizer, Bob Hannaford, at least 41 people have diagnosed positive with Covid-19 after attending this grand swinger party. There were a total of 300 guests at this party, so there is a high chance that many other people will come forward infected too.
He wrote in a blog post that he was uncertain about this swinger party held in New Orleans. But he moved forward after consulting a few people who advised to follow some extraordinary precautionary measures for keeping everyone safe. However, it turns out that all of them are unsuccessful to serve their purpose as he is continuously receiving texts from guests telling him that they are Covid-19 positive.

In this blog post, he wrote that he tracked back all these people who confirmed Covid-19 and asked them about their contacts at the party to warn others. In almost all cases, he says that people reported that they were very careful during the first and second day of this swinger party, but on the last day, they relaxed and ignored the precautions which is why they contracted Covid-19.
He also wrote that he has no idea about how many people are sick after this event and how many of them are getting tested or confirmed positive. The information that he has only confirmed 41 people but there is a high chance that this number could be over a hundred.

There is no way to estimate how many people are at risk but considering the widespread of the virus and neglect of people, it looks like that the number is high.
The swinger party which took place in New Orleans used extreme measures to control viral spread. The entry points included a touchless process which checked the temperature of every guest, sanitized them, and advised them to keep a distance from other guests. The event organizers even distributed wristbands of different colors to identify people with antibodies and non-contagious.
Those who experienced a negative Covid-19 test were wearing a different colored wristband that mentioned their date of the test too. The organizer said that making arrangements of all these things didn’t hint to him that there is a significant potential risk heading because people will end up showing a careless attitude.
U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has shared warnings for public gatherings urging people to act responsibly and not take a part in spreading the virus. It shared that the risk of viral transmission still persists since public gatherings do not generally follow a social distancing rule. It is normal for people to easily ignore this rule and come close to each other.
The real problem is that with a big party having hundreds of guests, it is impossible to know if a person standing next to you is Covid-19 positive, with or without symptoms.
